The editors at respected tech site CNET/Download.com have awarded Malwarebytes for Windows with an “outstanding” rating of 4.5 stars out of five. In the review, editor Tom McNamara recommended Malwarebytes because the scanning engine is of “high quality,” works well with Windows 10, and does a good job of explaining processes in plain English. Malwarebytes for Windows was one of the very few security programs to earn more than four stars from both the editors and CNET/Download.com users.
You’d expect that it would be champagne, fist bumps, and free kittens all around for a job well done here at Malwarebytes Galactic HQ.
Nope. All we can think about is the half star that we didn’t get. Perfection is hardcoded into our company DNA; it has to be. The way we figure it, a cybercriminal only has to be right once, on one computer, anywhere on this big spinning top of ours, in order to be successful. And cybercriminals are taking a lot of shots—our products detect approximately three million pieces of malware on millions of devices every day.
Every day. Which essentially means our job is never done.
This is the brutal math that keeps us up at night: We have millions of devices to protect, and we need to have zero successful malware attacks. As a result, we’re constantly tinkering with the Malwarebytes technology to make it smarter. In fact, the next version of Malwarebytes for Windows, version 4, is coming in 2019. It’s our best protection yet—and we’ve set the bar high.
Don’t get us wrong—we’re thankful and humbled by CNET’s recognition. Four and a half stars means we’re doing a really fine job delivering a malware-free existence to our customers, but that remaining half star is on our minds, and we’re going to do everything we can to try and earn it.
Don’t need worry about it. You’re doing your job well
I have Malwarebytes, and I love it. It’s always on the job and gets rid of a LOT of garbage that finds its way into my computer.
About time. I’ve used it since it first came out and unlike other programs they still know what lifetime license means. Too bad they don’t offer them anymore as I have many more PCs. Cool it’s still worth every penny.
I have had Malwarebytes on every computer, laptop and phone i have had. I was lucky enough to get a Lifetime License before they went pay as you go. 99% of the time its Malwarebytes that pops up when I go to a bad site or try to download something I shouldn’t. Nary a peep out of others other than Norton Security. If you MUST budget, get Malwarebytes first and just use Windows10 built in Defender.
